PRAGUE, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The United States triumphed over Australia 88-76 in the 2025 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup final to claim the title on Sunday in Brno, the Czech Republic.
The game saw the USA take a 50-40 lead in the first half. Australia fought back in the third quarter, narrowing the gap by outscoring the USA 17-14. However, the Americans solidified their dominance in the fourth quarter with a 24-19 run, ensuring their hold on the championship.
Saniyah Hall of the USA topped the charts with 25 points, complemented by nine rebounds and seven assists. Jasmine Davidson added 21 points. Bonnie Deas led Australia with 13 points, alongside four rebounds and three assists.
In the third-place playoff, Spain secured a narrow 70-68 victory over Canada to claim the bronze medal. Canada started strong with a 15-10 lead in the first quarter, but Spain turned the tables in the second quarter with a 23-17 surge, maintaining their edge through to the end of the match. ■
