ISTANBUL, July 20 (Xinhua) -- China plays a crucial role in global trade as its robust supply chain infrastructure stabilizes global supply networks while its growing domestic market offers other countries great opportunities, Turkish business insiders said recently.
"China's role in the global supply chain is very important, as it helps reduce the risk of disruptions and fluctuations in supply networks," Sant Manukyan, an analyst with Is Yatirim, the investment banking arm of Istanbul-based Isbank Group, told Xinhua.
China has "a significant and expanding market" as it "continues to implement packages that support the internal market," he noted.
During a meeting hosted in Türkiye's city of Izmir by the Aegean Exporters' Association (EIB), an organization that has been arranging Turkish participation in China's expos, Mehmet Ali Isik, president of the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters' Association under the EIB and owner of Isik Agriculture, highlighted China's well-established and diversified supply chain infrastructure.
"By maintaining a robust supply chain infrastructure, China helps reduce global supply risks and supports smoother trade flows for countries like Türkiye," Isik told Xinhua.
With almost 500 million Chinese as middle-income earners, China has a market characterized by a young demographic with rising incomes and increasing interests in healthy, organic products such as dried fruits and nuts, Isik noted.
"For Turkish businesses, aligning with China's evolving demand and policy environment could open new avenues for trade and collaboration," he said.
Isik also spoke highly of China's expos, such as the China International Supply Chain Expo running from Wednesday to Sunday, as well as the China International Import Expo to be held later this year.
"The strength of China's expos lies in their direct connection to the country's immense domestic market," he said.
Meanwhile, President of the EIB Jak Eskinazi said the EIB "attaches great importance to the Chinese market and strives to highlight its potential to our members at every opportunity through the (Chinese) expos." ■
